OUR STORY

LMY is a labor of love, born to bring the dream of my deceased brother to life, using unique, inspiring and heart-driven designs and fashionable clothing in order to spread awareness about mental health issues, normalize the struggle with depression and mental illness, to create community and solidarity, and to bring resources to all those who struggle with mental illness, especially young people and those struggling with depression and suicidal ideation.

My brother, Thomas, who struggled with depression for several years, finally took his own life in the summer of 2018. He also had the dream of creating a clothing company called Love Makes You, because he thought that love makes you crazy, and love makes you stupid, having been struggling in relationships and with his depression. He had already created several designs and a logo, so he had already begun to set the foundations. After such a crippling and traumatizing experience, I decided to use his vision to create some good and hopefully help some people who are struggling just like he did. Thus, LMY was born. It has taken several years for the vision to really grow roots and take shape, and I’m excited for the overall goal and mission of bringing mental health centers to schools all over the United States to come to fruition as LMY continues to gain momentum, help people and change lives.
